mixing groups; all MOSsed out.
Woke up to the disappointing! sounds of heavy rain yesterday morning. Hopes of getting a run in before going out were dashed, until it finally stopped pissing down at about 11. I managed to get James to accompany me to go see Kar Wee spin tops at Chinatown Point (thanks Eug for the ride).

Later Eugene swung by to pick us up and we headed over to Cyberia for a good frag. I was supposed to meet Bryan for drinks at Breko but enticed him to come downtown to join us instead. So it was just the 5 of us (Fat Beefy couldn't make it, and Bong had duties), but it was all good and fun.

It was like a minor friendster service for my LJ flist. Heh.

Then Kar Wee had to leave, and the rest of us headed over to Ice Cold Beer, and then Eugene left us. So we hung out and talked about some of the geekiest things ever. Amongst other things. We eventually got tired of having waiters come up to us to ask if we wanted more beer (James was convinced that they were all rude to guys and extra nice to girls), and Bryan mentioned that they would be showing the World Cup game at Ministry of Sound, and since I hadn't been, we decided to go.

MOS is huge. Like, HUGE. Like, twice the size of Zouk huge. Jeepers! But also very pretty. We couldn't get into Pure, which was packed from kickoff, so we gave up on the match. 54 might be my favourite hangout (particularly those cute little hanging seats), despite the cheesy 70's/80's disco and the odd crowd that seemed either extremely young or quite a bit older than us. Smoove is like, Cocco Latte, but twice the size, and with a Phuture crowd. The main floor was just... I can't think of a word. I didn't really like the crowd, somehow. But the toilets were smashingly fantastic. Say, six times the size of the Zouk ones. LOL. And much, much nicer, too. The dressing tables with the plush seats and lighted mirrors are just what clubs need to entice their female customers.

The overall feel of the place was slightly less than poseresque, but definitely not your typical watering hole. People don't go there to get drunk, it seems - Bryan said the drink prices were atrocious. And you don't have the usual line-up of people sprawled on the street ouside heaving their guts out. The crowd seemed really young, but that's possibly because the clubs I previously frequented had a generally older clientele (see Velvet; Attica), and there were quite a number of your middle-ageds standing around looking like they were trying to fit in, or something. A lot of it seemed very meat-market, but there were also a lot of groups just having a girls' night out and trying to have a good time despite the hordes of lecherous men trying to get into their mini-skirts. And well, I really enjoyed standing around, bopping to the music and watching other people have fun.

Thanks to Bryan for being such a sweetie and giving me a lift home even though I know you wanted to stay out all night. I was bushed! I've spent most of the day in bed, and I'm still tired... Now I've got a sore throat and I can't seem to stop sniffling though.

Haha, yeah. Oh, I lost one of my black toenails. Must've been when you trod on it last night... ;p

You know, fragging was actually rather fun, my constant tendency to die in extraordinarily stupid ways not withstanding (Ooh, I shall just look out the window to see what's out there *bang headshot*). =Þ
